Tina M. Thompson

Tina M. (Taylor) Thompson, 59, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at home December 23, 2021. Tina was born May 4, 1962, in Indianapolis, to Garth Leon “Sonny” and Loretta Darlene (Brewer) Taylor, who both survive.

She attended Ben Davis High School, class of 1979. Tina was employed at Emergency Medical Ambulance Service for 30 years as an EMT and office clerk. She later worked at the Kroger at 10th & Shortridge in the floral department and as a cashier. Tina loved sports and was an EMT for the Indianapolis Ice for many years. She was known for giving endearing nicknames to her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Family was incredibly important to Tina, and she was a caring and loving mamaw to her five grandchildren. She was a people person, one who never met a stranger, Tina only met new friends. She will be fondly remembered for her loving nature and her “spitfire” personality. Tina's family is grateful for her relationship with Jesus Christ, her Lord & Savior.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Christina Cochran; grandparents, Garth Leon and Joan Taylor; Doris Imogene, Paul and Garnet Brewer.

Survivors include her husband, Gregory H. Thompson, Sr., to whom she was united in marriage April 1, 1978; parents, Sonny and Loretta Taylor; son, Gregory (Jessica) Thompson, Jr.; daughter, Jennifer (Steve Taylor) Thompson; brother, Tim (Tracey) Taylor; sister, Cheri Vest, Tammy Taylor, and Cathie (Alvin) Barnes; grandchildren, Deklan and Stathan Thompson; Kaylynn Thompson and Kylie & Kaydence Taylor; 14 nieces and nephews; 16 great nieces and great nephews.

Private family services will be held for Tina, closer to her birthday. Cremation will take place at the Morgan County Crematory, Mooresville.
