Valda E. Bentley

Valda E. Bentley, 93, formerly of Mooresville, passed away March 6, 2022, at her residence. Mrs. Bentley was born January 14, 1929, in Vigo County, to the late Russell and Margaret (Medley) Stogsdill. She married the late Emerson Nay Bentley on February 7, 1948, and he preceded her in death on June 20, 2011.

Mrs. Bentley graduated from Marshall High School in Illinois. She was a Life Master of the American Contract Bridge Association. Family was everything to Val, and she was the absolute happiest when rocking her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by her loving family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, M. Russell, Jack, and Ed Stogsdill; sister, Ardith Perry.

Survivors include children, Ted (Susan) Bentley, Sue (Gene) Roe, Debra (Richard) Hendrickson, Joe (Susan) Bentley, and Brad (Lisa) Bentley; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 12, 2022, 9:30 to 11 a.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. The committal service will be at 1 p.m., on Saturday, in New Harmony Cemetery, Terre Haute.
