W. Maxine Ford

October 29, 1934 — September 12, 2021

W. Maxine (Elliott) Ford, 86, Mooresville, passed away September 12, 2021. Mrs. Ford was born October 29, 1934, in Indianapolis, to the late Daniel and Estelle (Burgess) Elliott. Maxine married Donald “Jack” Ford on April 20, 1957, and he preceded her in death in 1991.

She graduated from Arsenal Technical High School and worked as an accounting clerk for 26 years at Teledyne National Tracing Paper Company, retiring in 1995. Maxine’s favorite hobby was her family – she was an incredible mom, granny, and GG. She enjoyed puzzles, crosswords, playing cards, board games, and cheering on the Colts and the Pacers. A true Hoosier, Maxine was a Bobby Knight and Reggie Miller fan. She loved making holidays special for her family, especially Christmas, when she would decorate the house from top to bottom. She was a good cook, as long as you like things well done, as the family remembered. Maxine will be fondly remembered by her loving family for her kindness, her beauty, and her heart of gold.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Elliott.

Survivors include her children, Tamara S. (Pete Payton) Ford of Camby, Tonya A. (Doug) Weddle of Mooresville, Terri M. (Gary) Priest of Mooresville, and Troy D. (Shelly) Ford of Kentucky; sister, Saundra S. (Bill) Morris of Greenwood; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
