Wanda “Pookie” Dodd-Olsen, 69, of Danville IN, passed away on April 10th, 2022. Wanda was born April 26th, 1952, to parents Samuel Dodd and Mary Irene Keith-Dodd in Harlan, Kentucky.
Wanda was a graduate of the University of Kentucky where she received her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. After moving to Indiana in 1987, she worked as a medical technologist in several regional hospitals, including Hendrick’s Regional Health and Kendrick Hospital.
Wanda’s main interests outside of work were bowling and her faith. Pentecostal, Wanda ran a religious Facebook group for several years and was a proud member of the Eastern Star. She also enjoyed spending time with her neighbors, making fried green tomatoes she grew herself, and tea parties with her grandchildren. Pookie was infamous for her pranks. A jokester who always had a snappy comment that could make you laugh even when you were crying.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother SSG Charles Samuel Dodd, sister Reba Dodd-Creech, and nephews John T. Dodd, Jr. and Wesley Edward Neff.
She is survived by her daughter Billie Anderson; sons James Cornett, and John Cornett; brothers, Sgt. John Dodd Sr., Donald Dodd (Mary) of Monticello KY, Maj. C.E. Dodd (Pat) of Shepardsville KY, Richard Dodd of Fillmore IN; sisters Cleda Sue Neff (Bert) of Mooresville IN, and Bobbie Dodd-Cain of Fillmore, IN; beloved grandchildren Danielle Cornett, Andrea Cornett, Christopher Cornett, Jessica Cornett, Heather Cornett, Brooke Cornett, Travis James Cornett, Wesley Cornett, and Noah Williams; and 4 great grandchildren.
No formal services will be recognized at this time.
