William J. "Bill" Smith

William J. “Bill” Smith, 68, Mooresville, passed away February 12, 2020. Bill was born March 25, 1951, in Indianapolis, to the late Jack and Patsy (McQueen) Smith.

Bill graduated from Mooresville High School and worked as a stocker and cashier at Kroger for 40 years. He was a past member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Bill loved the outdoors, enjoyed woodworking and was passionate about cutting his grass and gardening. He enjoyed spending time on his motorcycle and always looked forward to a trip to Sturgis. Family was hugely important to Bill and he loved the traditional Friday night family game night (as long as he was winning!). Bill will be remembered for his caring and loving manner and his strong devotion to his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Terry, Jack, and Jackie.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Sherry; their children, Jackie Smith, Heather (Brandon) Anthony, Derek (Melissa) Willey, Nathan (Jessica) Willey, and Heather (Robert) Clark; brother, Kevin (Kathy) Smith; grandchildren, Serenity and Madison; Miranda, Olivia, Kiera, and Isabella; Katie, Timmy, Haley, and Breanna; Ethan, Christian, Alyssa, and Logan; Elijah, Aliyah, Noah, Jonah, and Cora; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 15, 2020, 2 to 5 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 16, 2020. Pastor Billy Gott will officiate. Cremation will follow the service.
