Zachary Tobias Voelz
37, of Lafayette, Indiana passed away on July 1, 2022. Zach was born in Beech Grove, Indiana to Ted and Shelley Voelz on September 27, 1984. As a child Zach loved spending time on the family farm with his Papaw Charlie and Grandma Jane. Zach was a 2003 graduate of Monrovia High School where he was on the Golf team and a Percussionist in the Marching Band. Zach was awarded Eagle Scout by Senator Richard Bray and wore that badge proudly. Zach went on to graduate from the University of Indianapolis and majored in the Language of German, International Relations and Political Science. He obtained his Masters Degree from Valparaiso University and was currently a Customs Specialist for Subaru of Lafayette. Zach loved to travel and had been to Germany several times, enjoyed mission trips in Jamacia and visiting Europe. Zach was a huge Atlanta Braves fan and loved to watch them play ball! He spent many weekends on charter boats fishing with his dad in Minnesota, South Carolina, Branson, Gulf Shores, Hilton Head Island, Monroe Lake and many more. He also enjoyed golfing in his spare time. Zach was a thoughtful and kind man who never missed an opportunity to “give back” or “pay it forward”.
Zach is survived by his Parents; Theodore and Shelley Voelz, Aunt; Teresa Metz, Uncles; Tom Metz and Steve Call, Great Aunts; Judy Hayes, Marilyn Frensemeier, Ann Coleman, Charlene Calabro, Judy Armstrong and Janet Orem, Great Uncles; Jean Coleman and Lowell Armstrong.
Zach is preceded in death by his Grandparents; Mary & Ernie Voelz and Charles & Jane Metz and Sheldon D. Armstrong, Aunt; Georgiann Call, Great Aunt; Ruth Coleman, Great Uncles; John Hayes, Bob Frensemeier, Paul Calabro and Jamie Orem.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the First United Methodist Church in Mooresville. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 11:00am with one hour of visitation prior to the start of the service in the church. Zach will be laid to rest in Kingston Presbyterian Cemetery in Greensburg on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 2:30 pm.
